Gordon S. McLeod

Business Development Consultant

Gordon guides clients, particularly engineering and contracting firms serving the oil and gas and energy sectors, on business development, marketing strategy, and all aspects of proposal development. For interested clients, he is also able to provide general management consulting services and technical training program development.

Gordon cofounded and was a senior executive and director of Petrofac International, a major turnkey contractor for the international oil and gas and oil refining industries headquartered in Dubai and London. Petrofac has current annual revenues of $1 billion and a clientele that includes ExxonMobil, Shell, Conoco-Phillips, BP, Gasprom, and many other major energy companies. During his 20-year tenure with the firm, Gordon held a variety of senior management positions in engineering, technical management, project management, operations, marketing, and sales. He was based throughout the globe, including in the Middle East, Russia, South America, central Asia, India, and Canada.

Since 2003, Gordon has been an independent consultant, providing business development services (for a specialty freight company), creating engineering training programs (for new graduates in the Middle East and India), and offering project management services. He is also president of TIMES, a Texas-based nonprofit musical education organization.

Gordon began his career as an electrical engineer trainee at NASA's White Sands Test Facility. He then spent three years as an engineer for ExxonMobil at the company's Baytown, Texas refinery, at the time, the world's largest. Gordon holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from New Mexico State University, from which he graduated with honors.
